good monday

What a day of happiness! So, I have this friend (let's call her Alison) who had such a great day and was so enthusiastic about it that her joy has transfered to myself.  I can't blame her for her excitement, she got a new job and soup in her hair...and salad dressing, it was a big day. So I was thinking about things that make me smile and decided to share this little beauty with all of you.  Come on fhqwghads!

our little story

I've been thinking lately about how I usually don't blog about personal stuff or treat my blog like a journal and I've decided that it's time to get down to the nitty gritty. So I'm putting pictures of Curtis and myself and going to tell you a little bit of "our story". Even though it was not love at first sight there was definitely something there when he said, after tasting some of my wassail, "It's like there's a party in my mouth and you're invited".  To which I replied, "Curtis, do me a favor.  If you ever get a girlfriend, never ever say that to her." Lo and behold, we started dating a couple months later.  We've now been married almost five years and we just go together so perfectly.  Some people even say we're starting to look like each other, now I'm not sure about that but that's what some say.

biking at redfish lake

Today I was thinking about warmer weather and longing to do all that warmer weather stuff I love so much.  Particularly, I was wishing we could go camping... anytime soon. This is a little video clip of Curtis last summer at Redfish Lake.  It puts a nice grin on my face, I hope it does yours too.

what planet am i on?

So, it's been one of those nights when I can't sleep and, instead of finding something descent to occupy my time with, I find myself scraping the bottom of the entertainment barrel.  Honestly, I'm not even sure how I found this, but upon my discovery I realized something.  People have way too much time on their hands.  Now I know we've all done a sufficient amount of time-wasting in our days, but I didn't know anyone could make a living out of it. Holy moly! ... And yes, the dresses are all made out of balloons.

bring on the spring

So, I'm a fan of winter and snow and all that. In fact, I have absolutely loved all the snow and blizzards we've had this year... however, enough is enough.  I'm ready for some warmer weather.  I want to walk barefoot in the grass, have BBQs and attend regular meetings for my cruiser club, where we (both members) take leisure rides on our cruiser bikes.  Ahhhhh.  I know it'll come, but somedays it seems forever away.  Bring on the spring!

the truth is out there

So, lately I've been getting back to my roots.  My roots of The X-Files, that is. I have loved The X-Files since I was in middle school, I religiously watched it every sunday night.  Deemed one of the most successful shows in pop culture, The X-Files has built a cult-like following of fans.  From government conspiracies to biological alien entities, from the smoking man to The Syndicate, and from the black oil to The Lone Gunmen, The X-Files have made us all "want to believe".  In 1998, between seasons five and six "The X-Files: Fight The Future" was released on the big screen.  Now, a whole ten years later, a sequel is in the works and will begin filming this year. I haven't been able to find out a lot about the synopsis, except that it will feature everyone's favorite FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.  Yes, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be back on the silver screen together and  I'm sure it won't disappoint.

why macs are better

Oh, where to begin... there are so many reasons macs are better than pcs.  You can make amazing stuff.  With iLife you can transform your photos, music , and video into all kinds of projects like, webites, photo books, DVDs, songs, slideshows, calenders, cards, prints, podcasts, and more. Mac is "Everything Ready".  It's the only computer in the world that can run all the major operating systems, even though OS X is all you need. Not only are Macs incredibly functional and user-friendly, they have innovative design that turns heads. No one can argue with this, they are beautiful!  Once you try a Mac, you won't go back.  Here's a little eye candy for all you Mac lovers.

snow day!

This morning I looked out the window to see that it had dumped about a foot of snow and was still coming down!  When we opened the door to let the dogs out, Maggie made it about three steps before she decided to turn around and come back in.  The amount of fresh new snow is taller than her and I'm pretty sure that she then decided she'd hold it until the snow melted a bit.  Luckily, for her, Curt went outside and tromped down a nice little area for her.  Before Curt started shoveling, we all went out and played in it.  Here is a funny video of Duke trying to fetch up the snowballs that Curt keeps throwing at him.  The second video is little Maggie fighting her way through the deep snow to get to me.

superbowl sunday

Well, it's that time of year again. The time of chips & salsa, soda, and 'lil smokies, the time of tailgaters and barbeques, the time of face painting, foot longs, and foam fingers. The most anticipated sporting event of the year. Of course, I'm talking about the Superbowl; Superbowl XLII. The New England Patriots vs. The New York Giants. Can the Patriots cap off a perfect season or will the Giants end an historic run? Personally, I'll be cheering on Eli and the boys of New York. As amazing as it would be for the Patriots to have a perfect season, I really don't want Tom Brady and Bill Belichick walking away with the title of "best team in the league", even though they undoubtedly are. So, tune into Fox Sports sunday afternoon at 4:17 for kick off and cheer on the New York Giants!

Also, is it just me or have the Superbowl halftime shows really gone down in the last few years? Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are perfofming this year and, hopefully, it will be an improvement from some of the utter disgraces that have made their way on stage in the past.
